Process Improvement Project Management
In functional organizations, the delivery of value often occurs through processes that span across organizational boundaries. Because each functional unit brings its own legacy ofrequirements, policies, and practices to each value delivering process, productive work is often the result of a collection of disjointed and uncoordinated independent efforts. The process view of work allows an enterprise to avoid this pitfall and move toward clean and efficient processes that meet requirements without duplication and unnecessary effort, expense, and elapsed time.
Upon completion of this course, students will know how to:
- identify business processes
- identify candidate process improvement projects
- construct process maps
- conduct value flow analysis and function analysis
- identify and select appropriate process alternatives based on Activity Based Cost
- construct implementation project plans
- win necessary support for change processes
